Terms of service

The service

IthacaDrone LLC flies drone inspections and aerial work in and around Ithaca, New York: thermal and photo inspections of solar sites and commercial roofs, construction progress flights and thermal searches for lost pets. Every job is quoted individually. We also license aerial stock footage of Ithaca one clip at a time. Reports, imagery and licensed files are delivered to your account on this website.

Your account

• Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• An account belongs to one person or business. If more than one person needs to see a project's reports, ask us and we'll add them.
• We may suspend an account that shares download links, redistributes licensed footage, or otherwise breaches these terms or the Clip License Agreement.

Inspection and aerial services

• Each job is quoted before we fly. The quote you accept sets the scope, price, schedule, deliverables and payment terms for that job, and it forms part of these terms.
• Flights depend on weather, FAA airspace rules and site access. Thermal work also needs specific conditions, such as strong sun for solar, a dry evening for a roof moisture survey or cool ground at night or dawn for a pet search. If conditions aren't right, we reschedule and tell you.
• You're responsible for getting us permission to access and fly over the site, and for the accuracy of the site information you give us, including contacts, access instructions and known hazards. You agree to cover any claim that arises from that information being wrong.
• Our pilots may delay, stop or cancel a flight at any time for safety or legal reasons.
• A lost pet search is a search, not a guarantee. We fly the area you describe and tell you what our cameras show. We can't promise that your pet will be seen or found, and we don't capture or handle animals. Recovering your pet is up to you.
• Reports and imagery are delivered to your account. You may use them for your own purposes related to the site, such as maintenance, repairs, warranty and insurance claims, financing, sale and marketing. IthacaDrone keeps ownership of the underlying files.
• We don't publish your reports, or imagery that identifies your site, without your permission.

What a report is, and isn't

Our reports record what our cameras observed from the air, including thermal readings, and our interpretation of it. A report is not a licensed home inspection, a structural or engineering assessment, or an electrical or solar system certification, and it is not stamped by a licensed engineer. Findings should be confirmed on site by a qualified professional before repairs or other decisions, for example by a core cut on a roof or electrical testing on a solar array.

Footage purchases

• Clips are sold individually at the price shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe and is due in full at checkout.
• Your license starts when payment completes. Licensed files are delivered to your account, and the Clip License Agreement sets out how you may use them.

Memberships started before October 2026

Memberships are no longer sold. An existing membership keeps billing monthly through Stripe until you cancel it from your account ("Manage billing"); cancelling stops future charges and your access continues to the end of the paid period. Existing memberships remain governed by the Membership License Agreement.

Footage and takedowns

All flights are conducted under FAA Part 107 rules. If you believe any of our footage raises a privacy or property concern, email us and we'll review it promptly.

Warranties and liability

The website and its downloads are provided as-is; we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific job, clip license or membership period the claim relates to (for a membership, the fees paid in the three months before the claim arose), and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Tompkins County, NY.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we'll update the effective date above and notify account holders by email. A quote you've already accepted keeps the terms that were in effect when you accepted it.
